Before we were married, my husband, Harold surprised me with a trip to Santa Cruz to ride the carousel. We had a great ride but I tried unsuccessfully to get a brass ring. Unknown to me, Harold got a ring and saved it. When we were ready to leave, he got down on one knee and proposed. How could I resist? It was truly a special day. We married in 1995 and returned to Santa Cruz about 2 years later where he retrieved and saved another ring. He has now passed away but not without taking a brass ring with him. We each have a carousel ring that led to a very happy married life of 15 years.
