My grandfather Polo, as we called him, and my grandmother Aida who I loved very much. My mother told me the story of a long ride from Texas to California in a slow 1938 International flat bed truck, to look for work and a place to live. She mentioned that my grandfather would take them to Santa Cruz after a season of work in the fields for summer fun. The photo of my grandparents on Pleasure Pier with the United States 48 Star Flag taken between 1953-1955 is becoming iconic within our family descendants. The trips to Santa Cruz has been passed down from one generation to the next, and now to my grandchildren. One day, the story of a Captured Moment will continue with stories of their own.
