I grew up in San Jose, so it was never too hard to get to the Boardwalk. I was taken there a lot by my family as a child and when I became a teenager it became a must on hot summer days. I’d hop on the Highway 17 bus from San Jose to Santa Cruz, ride the rides, go watch the harbor seals. I also took my boyfriend since he’d never gone. It has to have been one of the funnest days we’ve ever spent. Now we make it a point to go every summer! It has such a wonderful feel.
My father always tells me that he used to love going as a teenager as well.
