Flipping through my Great Grandma’s albums I came across this photo of her and my Great Grandpa sitting on the beach in front of Neptune’s Kingdom. He was born in Soquel from parents that emigrated to Soquel from Italy during the war and called Santa Cruz home. They loved the beach and coastlines of California and would frequent with their large extended Italian families. The Beach Boardwalk has always held a special place in our family’s hearts growing up riding the rides or bringing a picnic dinner to watch The Beach Boys perform on a Friday night at the beach. Four generations later I’m now bringing my 3 kids for mini golf, rides and walks along the beach.
