Home for the Summer from college, I always found time to cruise to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk with family and friends. Riding the world famous Looff Carousel was always a must do for any baseball player. Throwing the rings and trying to hit the clown’s mouth is one of the coolest amusement park activities of all time. Today was un-like any other on my great white horse. Out of the 8 rings that I grabbed off of the hanging dispenser, I converted 7 bullseye tosses into the clown’s mouth. Many witnesses were there that day to see this amazing feat. Many cheers were given, young children in line scrambled to give high fives on my exit. In the words of the great Lou Gehrig, I spoke out loud…”Today….. I consider myself…. the luckiest man…. on the face of the Earth”. Perhaps this record still remains unbroken, and every year I go back with my kids to try and break it. What’s your best score?
