Walking Charlie was once a very popular game at the Boardwalk. Players threw baseballs at moving mannequins who were wearing various hats. If you could knock off a hat, you were a winner. (Seems like you could also do some damage to Charlie!) This 1973 photo shows a young Charles Canfield (current Boardwalk President) with concessionaire Domenic “Jimmy” Giovanazzo and Walking Charlie.
