This is the Wishing Well which was outside the Casino in 1949. The Klempnauers and Lages were cousins who had moved to Santa Cruz from Kansas City, Mo., in 1946 and 1948 respectively. The Lages lived on Beach Hill, the Klempnauer on Lighthouse Avenue, one block off West Cliff Drive.
