I started working at the Boardwalk taking tickets. Girls were not allowed to operate the rides. That did not sit well with me and I started bugging management. I remember the newspaper taking my picture in front of a ride as first female to operate a ride. My regular ride was the Round-up. Before I got there, girls could only sell or take tickets. Boys were allowed to push the buttons to operate the rides only.
