My favorite activity during the late 60’s, when I was in high school, was to head over to the Boardwalk from San Jose. My high school friends and I loved to “cruise” the Boardwalk. For the 4th of July. I custom painted a “stars and stipes” design on a tank top with a felt pen. This was before tank tops had really caught on. I was excited to show off my muscles to all the girls in my new patriotic tank top on the 4th of July. We had a great time meeting girls and enjoying the wonderful old sights and sounds of the Boardwalk that day. And of course who could forget the fantastic fireworks display at the end of the day!
